Long ball hitter? Come see us. You may bomb it, but to score well on our little treasure, you have to shape the ball both ways and putt like a professional. Our 1915 Donald Ross golf course is a testament to the enduring viability of quality design that hews to the natural terrain. The course is not long by modern standards, lies on a very small piece of prime real estate, and uses every inch of it to maximum effect. If you can make it through the first four holes, you will breathe a sigh of relief as Mr. Ross's routing begins to show its gentler nature. But don't let your guard down just yet. Number 5 is the toughest 320 yard par 4 in the area. Until you get to number 10.
Jefferson Lakeside Country Club's golf course is the most naturally beautiful golf course in the Richmond area. The course plays through the woods with no houses on the golf course. Jefferson Lakeside is a great place to get away and enjoy nature just minutes from the city. We have hawks, geese, and the occasional bald eagle graces our landscape.
Much of the course's natural beauty can be attributed to the unaltered terrain and a variety of 56 types of trees. Many of these trees were personally selected and imported from Europe by the original property owner, Lewis Ginter.
In the summer, Lakeside is the coolest course in town because most of the playing area is shaded by majestic trees. Because of Lakeside's limited membership, the course is available for prime tee times for both men and women.
